Celtic Knot SG Give him some breathing space lor... you 2 may be still young and wanna prioritized career before long term relationship.. Until u no longer cares for him, or he has a change of heart, that will be a totally different situation. For that, i will say, go separate ways, dun waste time...
Rhonda SG Hanor! Hanor!! He keeps telling me that money's "not that important" but the hours he puts into his job tells me otherwise. I've told him that he's overworking himself and becoming a zombie but he keeps saying that they don't pay him A$XXX,XXX a year to sit back and smell the roses. He's in quite a bad state recently because his work and fireman responsibilities are all catching up on him and I'm backing off cause I don't want to trigger a nervous breakdown by giving him extra stress!
elindra SG I think all of us have a mean streak in us Sometimes we have to let it pass coz they have a bad day etc But to me it seems that he wants companionship but not the responsibilities that come with it. I guess just enjoy him as a friend but not investing in it for something more

Celtic Knot SG .... he may get distractions, not cautious, and tiredness overwhelmed him, he may be risking his own life.. Fireman job is pretty dangerous...
Rhonda SG I think it's quite obvious that he wants companionship when it suits him. He could go out of his way to meet me previously so it's really not a case of can or can't but rather, one of will or won't. Yeah... I think he's better as a friend but nothing more. He's too nonchalent. I did get lots of warning alarms going off when I discovered how he treated his ex's but ah well, you know we all get trapped in the web of hopefulness now and then! I have to admit I am pretty comfortable with my singlehood myself and find that I'm no longer as willing to tolerate certain slights as I used to. I've grown older, I guess...

elindra SG Well Rhonda then I guess is you have to decide what do you really want? Continue to enjoy singlehood without having to 'answer' to anyone or find someone special to share your life with? Because if you really want to find someone to share your life with, you have to put up or let some of these 'slights' slide at times or it is difficult to build a relationship. It's different from being friends
Rhonda SG Eh... we're no longer young pups. We're more like old dogs! Anyways, I'm having lots of trouble with this site today. THink I'll just head to work now. Thanks for listening, everyone! Have a good day, peeps!
Rhonda SG I do want to share my life with someone, but they have to want to share theirs with me too. In the meantime, instead of sitting around and wailing, I've just decided to enjoy the pluses of being single. I really did think that fireman and I had something good going but oh well, he loves his job much more than me. Ah well, you know better than anyone else that I had to modify myself in certain areas just to jive with him and I was kinda slowly getting used to it. I'm only bringing up the mean bits to console myself.
elindra SG Anyway you will meet someone la Dun worry *pat pat* Just get out, meet new ppl, do your thing Maybe sign up for some dance classes or something to get to know ppl It should be fun
Celtic Knot SG Yo Elindra, that reminds me...I have decided to talk to my friend...probably this week... Dun want to hurt his feelings but, this time I must really make clear to him in a harsher way ... We are just friends, nothing will materialize after all these 10 years....no chemistry means no chemistry lah...wah laoo...I have hinted almost LOUD AND CLEAR all these years! ... perhaps this time, his brain picks up the message and he moves on with his life... and hope that we can still be good friends...
the Bear SG try the line i've used at work a lot when i was working shift.. Which part of NO did you not understand?
the Bear SG har? maybe he didn't have them.. a clerk at work said she got fines for things she know she never borrowed... because she can't read those
Fatum SG why do women always hope to be friends after they break somebody's heart and trampled it to the ground ? ..... people move on by forgetting ..... by keeping in contact .... by being friends .... you're just prolonging that person's agony, no ? .... and let's face it ... it's all going to go down hill from there, no ? ... the chap will just fade away slowly .... if that's the case ... just "euthanize" him ... neh ? ....
Celtic Knot SG if he undestands NO, i will not be having midnight SMSs from him. i will just simply ignore them in the future...
